As we head into the cooler nights of winter, some of you may be thinking that it’s getting a bit chilly for evenings spent out on your deck or patio. If you’re one of those people then we’re here to tell you that there’s absolutely no need to worry! While there’s nothing you can do to change the weather, you definitely have a few excellent options when it comes to outdoor heating for your patio. Read about them below.
Electric Heat Strips
Electric heat strips are fantastic for when you want a more inconspicuous heating option or don’t want to take up a lot of floor space. They’re a great option if your patio area is a bit smaller or it already has a lot of outdoor furniture and you don’t want it to feel cramped. Heat strips are a simple but effective invention which have wire elements that are heated by electricity and radiate a nice warm glow. You simply install the strip (or strips) on the ceiling and switch it on during those cooler nights and the best part is that heat strips are very low-maintenance.
Heat Lamps
When opting for a heat lamp, we recommend that you go for a gas-powered lamp if you intend on placing it directly below your patio roof as an open flame may cause stains. However, a gas lamp is just as effective and is much more eco-friendly and safe – particularly if you have children. These lamps come in a huge range of styles and heights so you’re bound to find one that suits your style and needs. Conveniently, the heat lamp can be repositioned depending on where you’re entertaining with your family or friends sitting in your outdoor space.
Burner Fire Table
These tables are a great option if you’re looking for a centrepiece for your outdoor area as well as a heat source. Burner fire tables are essentially like a coffee table, but they have enough space for drinks and finger foods, as well as a fire in the centre of the table! These tables generally use bioethanol as a fuel which results in very little, if any, mess and is again, a great eco-friendly solution. These fire burning tables are a great way to create a cosy atmosphere as everyone quite literally gathers around the fire with a glass of wine in hand. These tables also tend to be easy enough to move and relocate if you feel like switching your outdoor furniture up a bit.
Gas Fire Pit
Gas fire pits are a bit of a combination of a burner fire table and an open fire pit. Like we previously mentioned, we don’t recommend having open flames directly below the roof of your patio but that doesn’t mean you have to be deprived of that nostalgia-inducing campfire vibe. A gas fire pit is guaranteed to give you that same warm glow, literally and figuratively. They also require much less cleaning, maintenance and smoke pollution. What’s more, you can get a variety of styles in gas fire pits so you can opt for a traditional stone look or go for a more modern aesthetic with stainless steel.
