How Not To Go Stir Crazy At Home

Between your socially distanced walks around the neighbourhood, decluttering all of your cupboards and the hours of Netflix binging, we’re sure you’ve done everything you can think of to keep yourself and your family entertained during self-isolation so far! The team at SEQ Patios wanted to share their tips for keeping busy around the house during your extra time at home:

1. Plant a herb garden

There’s no better time to exercise that green thumb! Being able to pick some fresh herbs from your own backyard will feel extremely satisfying, and having something to maintain over the next few months will be a great way to feel more productive. With the need to minimise our exposure, ordering a seed kit online with some pots could see you having a fun-filled afternoon with the family potting away on your patio!

2. Backyard picnic

Getting outdoors as much as possible during isolation is the best way to boost the mood of everyone in your household. We love setting up a picnic the way that you would normally down at your local park. All you’ll need to do is lay down the picnic blanket, hang up some fairy lights around your pergola or patio and bring out some games for everyone to enjoy!

3. Outdoor gym circuit

If you’re an avid gym fan who is missing their workout space, why not try and recreate your own? There are more online tutorials for at-home workouts than we can count at the moment. Setting up a circuit around your backyard is a fun way to get your workout done, with the flexibility to change it up daily. You could get creative and use household items as weights, towels as mats and get the music pumping!

4. Re-paint trimmings

They say change is as good as a holiday, and we think isolation is a great time to test this theory! If you get really stuck for ideas on the weekends, you could dabble in some re-painting of either your furniture or your trimmings both inside and outside of the home. You can order paint samples online and do some patch testing before committing to anything, so you won’t need to leave the house!

5. Pressure wash the patio

This might be the most satisfying of all, deep cleaning the outdoor patio. We love watching before and after videos of outdoor areas being pressure washed (if you haven’t seen any we highly recommend checking some out). Seeing the area transform into the state that it once was is the best feeling!
